Education Pays–Pursuit Of Happyness

Last week I had the pleasure of hearing Chris Gardner speak.
You may not recognize his name…but by the end of this post you will know his story.
Will Smith starred in a move called “The Pursuit of Happyness.”
This movie is based on Chris Gardner’s personal life story.
If you haven’t had an opportunity to see it, I recommend you move heaven and earth to do so… such an inspiring story.
You can see the trailer here.

I remember seeing this when it first came out and I was very touched by the film…looks like you had a chance to meet him…what was he like?

I had seen the movie. I have attended Glide Memorial Methodist Church in San Francisco and I am familiar with their programs for the homeless. Chris Gardner’s story is an inspiration. He vowed that his child, his son, would know his father. Through homelessness, single fatherhood and life’s bitter challenges, he was true to his word. Chris is an approachable and humble man. He is a great role model for all of us who are good at making excuses. If you want something, go get it. Work hard, stay late. Be world class at something. Find what you can do, don’t wallow in what you can’t do. That’s what he is like…
